Symptoms: Flowers don't stay on the plant for long.

Cause: Over fertilizing

Description: Plant grows vigorously, then flowers briefly, and keeps on growing.

Remedy: Do not fertilize after the flower buds are about the size of a pea. The best practice is to fertilize after each flush of flowers (which is when they should be pruned) with a slow release fertiliser.
