An amazing cultivar. Tough, plenty of small intricate flowers of dark magenta approximately 4.5-5cm in diameter produced in summer. Viticella purpurea plena Elegans can be grown as a specimen plant on a large obelisk or other free standing structure but I prefer to have it scrambling through shrubs or on small trees. Origins of this cultivar are a bit obscure but possibly originates from the 1600's.
